Weekly Readers/Fluency Sentences:
I will not be sending home fluency sentences or books this week due to me being out this week. I am so proud of how well the students are doing with their book and their sentences. Please take this time to study for your sight words. We will have a sight word test on Wednesday over all the words we learned this 9 weeks and then we will have a sight word test over all the words that we learned this year on the 6th of March.

What We are Learning:
This week we will talking about a different Dr.Seuss book each day.
Monday: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Tuesday: The Cat in the Hat
Wednesday: Fox in Socks
Thursday: Oh the Places You Will Go
Friday: The Lorax
Reading/Literacy:
- closed syllable words and how to read them
- blending phonemes to make words
- Verb and Adjectives
- identifying the initial, middle, & final sounds in a word
- identifying how many syllables are in a spoken word
- generating rhymes
- discussing character traits
- finding main ideas in a text
Math:
- We are learning about addition
- The vocabulary: join, in all, add, plus sign (+), equal sign(=), sum, addition sentence
- We will be adding objects together and creating addition sentences
- counting to 75
- ordering the numbers 0-20
- counting by 10's, 2's and 5's
- writing and identifying the numbers to 20
- learning how to use a hundreds chart and fill in the missing numbers
Writing:
- We are working on forming our letters correctly
- Writing a sentence using spaces, capital letters at the beginning, and punctuation
- Learning to sound out the letters in a word and then writing it down
- Writing our first and last name ( please work on this at home)
- Writing sentence using our sight words and sounding out words
