COLLABORATION LESSON
ART
Hello, I am Mrs. Gann, the art teacher at Lewis Elementary. Before Lewis, I taught for Southside ISD and was a Sign Language Interpreter for our local UTSA. I have a deep love for art and am looking forward to passing that on to your children this year. I am thrilled to be part of the Lewis community this year.
In the Art room, the lower grades are learning about the elements of line and color. We have painted, folded and glued some amazing art pieces. Fourth and fifth graders are learning about composition and craftsmanship. We are off to a great year in the art room.

In Intermediate we will incorporate all those foundational skills of Primary in our study of Science of Systems. It will definitely be an exciting year in GT!

MUSIC
My name is Selena Urby, and this is my eighth year teaching Music at Lewis Elementary. I grew up in San Antonio making music: I play the violin, piano, guitar, and more! I went to Trinity University and received my bachelor's degree in Music Education. I also received my master’s degree in the Art of Teaching from Trinity. As well as teaching elementary music, I lead the 4th-5th grade Lewis Choir and the 5th Grade Strings program. I’m very excited to start my ninth year of teaching music!

PE
My name is Coach Cortez. I'm beyond ecstatic to be back at Lewis for another school year. We will have a chance to do many exciting things this year in PE. I'm going to be bringing tons of passion and energy into the gym and I hope to instill some similar feelings of excitement into my students. While we want to have fun, we also want to focus on building character here in the gym. We're going to be sharpening our skills and our character traits here. Can't wait for this year of fun and growth!
