What it Means to be College, Career, and Life Ready: Essential Employability Standards
The curriculum and assessments capture all NCC students.
NCC students learn their technical skills within their program and also learn related/integrated academics in English and Math that support their programs. Below is the framework of the Essential Employability curriculum that is taught and assessed at NCC.
A Message from your Administration: Mr. Noller & Mr. Green
We start this school year with much excitement and anticipation, but we also have challenges. We have our largest enrollment in our 41-year history serving approximately 480 students. We added a second Law Enforcement teacher to a very successful program and we have partnered with KC Tech Academy and have brought them into the building. Very exciting. However, I also mentioned challenges. Our school is no different than the 16 high schools we serve as many of our efforts are still focused on navigating our current pandemic. We also have some construction projects that are a little behind and may take some time to finish.
Last year we had an amazing year as we were in session every day with the exception of snow days. This was able to occur due to a well developed and executed plan that was created in partnership with our sponsor, the Platte County School District. We also made the school year work due to the cooperation and partnership of our students, parents, and sending school partners.
One last request before we finish our opening thoughts to the school year. Please encourage your student to take advantage of the opportunities that we provide our students. Students can earn credentials, take part in an internship, earn college credit, do relevant/real world projects, compete in SkillsUSA or FFA, and uphold leadership positions in various capacities. Stretch them to take advantage of these opportunities. It can only propel their success as they transition into adulthood and the real world.
