Learning Happens in So Many Different Ways...

Parents & Guardians:
It’s hard to believe that we are already entering the third week of school – time really flies when you’re having fun! Since we have already set the tone for all of our expectations, both academically and behaviorally, now it’s time to soar. I’m so proud of our students and staff and I’m sure everyone will maximize this upcoming school year.
In addition to the focus on academics and behaviors, we also spent time advising students about the proper use of their cell phones and social media platforms. Each year, we have a variety of issues we have to navigate through due to the misuse of these outlets. Please take some time to review your own personal “parental expectations" on cell phone or social media usage. Together, we can help students make the "right choices" while using these communication tools. In addition, please take some time to review our Student Handbook as well. I think it will answer many of your potential questions. I will add a link below so you can easily access it.
I am always available to answer any questions you may have pertaining to school or your child.

Meet the Teacher Night
This night is an opportunity to get to know your child’s school and teacher a little better. We welcome you to come and explore all of the wonderful things we do. Remember, this isn’t an official Parent Conference Night. If you do need to meet with your child’s teacher(s), we can easily accommodate your request to set up a mutual time to discuss any concerns. Please schedule this directly with your child’s Team Leader.
Additionally, this is the night that we vote for our School Council. If you are interested in being part of a group that helps create a direction for our school, please consider submitting your name.
School Council 2018-2019
If you are looking to get involved with our school in a larger capacity, please sign up to be considered for our School Council. Meetings are once a month and we focus on developing our School Improvement Plan as well as exploring our school budget and day-to-day school procedures. Voting for School Council membership will take place at the Meet the Teacher Night on September 13th. If you are interested, please click on the School Council button below. If you have questions, please e-mail Principal Packard at dpackard@dcrsd.org
Music Parents Association’s Car Wash & Bake Sale
