A Letter from the Superintendent

December 19, 2022

The holiday season is on display all across the Methacton School District. While our school bus drivers always keep safety in mind while transporting your children to and from school each day, they are also coming up with ways to make the trip more joyful for students. Just take a look at this PHOTO GALLERY. Several bus drivers have transformed their buses with festive lights and decorations. They are commended for their dedication to their work, for their creativity and for thinking of wonderful ways to brighten the day of our students.

This holiday – join with me in giving thanks to our bus drivers. Sharing a small gift, a big thank you or a simple smile are all you need to show them your appreciation for safely transporting your child(ren) and navigating the traffic and weather challenges.

Speaking of challenges, the district implemented a new safety program with BusPatrol that activated a stop-arm camera system in our fleet of buses to capture vehicles that illegally pass a stopped school bus. Each month, we will publish the number of citations sent for review to local law enforcement, the number of citations approved, and the overall approval rate. You can find this information here.

Sincerely,

Dr. David Zerbe

Superintendent of Schools
