What's Happening This Week!
It's October!
~ No School Monday - Columbus Day!

~ DARE - Officer Hogan of the Woodridge Police Department will come to visit us for the next few Thursdays as a part of our 2nd grade DARE curriculum. Pictures on Twitter!
What are we Learning?
Accelerated Reading AR) - Click here for more information about Accelerated Reading (AR) in our classroom. This letter has also been sent home with your child's Home Connect login. It is our hope to help students read successfully through this program.
Library checkout is officially on Thursdays!
Phonics/Spelling - This week we'll continue to work on "glued" sounds. Students will practice sounds such as: ild, ind, old, olt, ost
Trick Words (Unit 3): done, goes, pretty
Writing - We have completed our Narrative Writing Unit! Students will share their personal narratives with their classmates. These stories and their final writing grades will be sent home before Thanksgiving break.
Math - Students will take their Unit 1 Measurement & Data Summative Test this week. Grades for this test will be posted on their report card. We will also complete our Real World Experience for this unit.

-Measurement & Data: Bar Graphs, Pictographs, Line Plots
Social Studies - We will continue to work on Communities and their Helpers. We hope to begin our digital ABC books on Communities at the end of the week. Look for these soon!
