Student Survey Notice
Dear LOHS Families, Your student will be asked to participate in a survey to help us better understand the mental health and substance use behaviors and perceptions that exist among Lake Orion students. This information allows LOCS to better meet the needs of your student by tracking progress in support and prevention efforts that are currently being offered, while potentially identifying any new trends that may be a concern. The survey will be completed online Monday, April 3rd during 4th hour. Student answers will remain anonymous and neither name nor IP addresses will be collected. The data will only be reported out as the aggregate. If you would like to opt your child out of completing this survey, please email Mrs. Mardlin at jessica.mardlin@lok12.org by Friday, March 24, 2023 before 1:00pm. Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support our students. LOHS Communications

Recovery Rebate Credit
The Internal Revenue Service wants to remind families about the 2021 Child Tax Credit payments, which could be up to $1,800 per qualifying child and the 2020 & 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit (also called stimulus payments or Economic Impact Payments), which is $1,400 per qualifying child.
As families are now filing their 2022 tax returns, the IRS wants them to know, along with eligible families that normally don't file a tax return (i.e. low-income families) that it's not too late to claim these pandemic-related tax benefits. Information is available in flyers from the IRS linked above.

School Dismissal Manager
We have started utilizing School Dismissal Manager (SDM), a program for parents to communicate early student departures. LOHS successfully used the SDM program last year. It is accessible on either computer or smartphone, allowing parents the opportunity to officially submit an early dismissal request without calling the school.
On approximately September 22, you should have received a communication from School Dismissal Manager with additional details. Parents are encouraged to check their designated email accounts. Also, be advised the message might be redirected to your “junk” folders. The welcome email from SDM provides all relevant information necessary to activate and begin using your account.
Family Portal
Just a reminder that Sendmoneytoschool.com has been replaced by lakeorion.familyportal.cloud. Please visit the site to set up a lunch account for your student. There is a tutorial at the bottom of the Family Portal page that walks you through the process of setting up an account. Information on meal prices for the 2022-2023 school year are listed below:
High School Prices
Breakfast Meal Price $2.00
Lunch Meal Price $3.50 - $3.75
