Cell Structure
Mitochondria
- The mitochondria is the "power house" in the cell.
- This organelle breaks down the food from the plant and makes energy.(ATP)
- The mitochondria is in both animal and plant cells.
- In diagrams the mitochondria has either squiggly lines or vertical lines inside of it.
Vacuole
- The vacuole holds water and other substances.
- Vacuoles are generally bigger in plant cells.
- The vacuole is still in both animal and plant cells.
- This organelle looks like a blob of empty space.
