Sabercat Update
Note for Mrs. Koop
Smith Middle School, on the other hand, came through safe and sound. We are ready for students to return tomorrow. Our campus is still on a boil water notice. If that is the case in the morning, we will have bottled water for students. However, they are always welcome to bring their own.
As a result of last week's events, I received the information provided below. It might be something you don't personally need, but you may know someone who does. It is going to take all of us working together to help our friends, family, and neighbors come back from the recent weather event and the havoc and loss it caused many families in the Houston area.
Houston Food Bank
The Houston Food Bank is offering home delivery to our vulnerable populations if they need immediate assistance. They will receive a disaster box delivered to their home. The vulnerable populations being considered are: Seniors 65+, persons with disabilities, and families with infants.
Their call center is taking reservations today, 2/22/21, and can be reached at (832) 369-9390.
Resources
Operation Barbecue Relief
OBR will be returning to help Houston families and first responders beginning on Monday.
The organization says it expects to serve 2,500 meals each day it is here for the duration of the relief trip.
The times and locations of the relief effort are pending.
Pet Food
The Houston Humane Society will host a pet food distribution event on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Brazoria County Courthouse in Angleton.
The organization will host a second drive-thru pet food distribution event from 10 a.m. until noon on Friday at the Four Corners Community Center in Sugar Land.
