Amanda is a singer, model, and an actress. She was born on December 3, 1985. She started her career as a model at age 11. Then, she started acting at age 15 with uncredited roles. She has played in multiple movies. For example, Mamma Mia!, Dear John, Letters To Juliet, Red Riding Hood Les Miserables, and many more. She was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Her parents are Ann and Jack Seyfried and her sisters name is Jennifer Seyfried.

Training/ Education

Amanda graduated from William Allen High School in 2003. She had appeared in print ads for clothing companies including three covers on Sweet Valley High, Limited Too, and Leighton Meester. Soon enough she stopped modeling at the age of 17 and worked as a waitress at a retirement community. She had taken voice lessons, trained with Broadway coach, and studied opera.

Beginning Career

She started as a model at age 11, but she quit. Then at age 15 she got her first contract role acting in As the World Turns. She had always wanted to sing and act. While she attended Fordham University she was offered a major part in a teen flick. Her big break was in a hit film Mean Girls as Karen Smith the ditzy popular blonde.

Facts and Awards

Many movies that she starred in have been nominated or have won awards like in 2005 Mean Girls won and MTV Movie Award. Also, most recent in 2012 the movie Les Miserables won a Satellite Award for best ensemble, motion picture. Lastly in 2010 she won a ShoWest Award for breakthrough female star of the year. Interesting fact Amanda suffers from stage fright and avoids performing in theatre. Amanda is of mostly German descent with some Scots-Irish and English ancestry. She had missed a total of 70 day in high school due to acting commitments. Finally before the role in Mamma Mia she studies singing for five years with a broadway voice coach.
