Cavalier Connection
January 2021
A Message from the Principal
Happy New Year!
As we begin 2021 and look back on 2020, I want to thank our students, staff and parents for their supports and efforts to help all of us make the best of an unfortunate situation. Day after day you demonstrated your care and concern for others and your actions made a big difference. I especially want to thank all of you who stepped up to provide support and assistance to our school community during the holiday season with food, gifts and donations. It was great to see the Cavalier Spirit shining brightly in your unselfish efforts of support.
As we start the new year, we are also preparing to end our first term of this school year, which means students will be completing the classes they are currently enrolled in and will start their final set of classes at the end of the month. Right now would be an excellent opportunity for parents to work with their student to ensure all assignments are on track to be completed by this first term. Please note that Final Assessments (Exams) are cancelled for the 2020 – 2021 school year which equates to more emphasis on marking period grades. This month we will also start our registration process for the 2021-2022 school year so please look for that information which will be shared with students and parents soon.
We all know that this school year continues to be unlike any that we have had in the past and we appreciate your continued support as we continue to navigate uncharted territory. I have no doubt that we will have a great year in 2021 as long as we continue to approach the challenges that lie ahead as a united team. Our school and our students will always need the support of our parents and community to be successful…so I want to thank you in advance for the great work we are about to do this year.
It will be a Great Year to be a Cavalier in 2021!
Danny

New Mural @ PAHS
There’s a new addition at Princess Anne dedicated to the Class of 2021. Inspired by his sister’s mural for the Class of 2016, Senior David DiNardo decided it was time to take action by replacing it with one for his fellow Seniors Using the Class of 2021 theme, “Born to Sail,” David painted a mural to portray a Cavalier in motion, making the best of the times and bringing renewed PA spirit to the school community.

PSAT Day
January 26, 2021 is PSAT Day for Juniors only. If you acknowledged via our recent survey that you want your student(s) to take the PSAT, those students only will receive communication regarding the student guide, schedule, and expectations. The communication with students will begin very soon, via email, and will continue periodically in the coming weeks. I will emphasize and highlight a few areas pertaining to the PSAT in my communication with the students but if you could ensure that on PSAT Day, your student(s) are prepared and ready with two #2 pencils (no pens or mechanical pencils) and a scientific or graphing calculator, that would be helpful. Any PSAT related questions or concerns should be directed to Mr. Hunter at kelvin.hunter@vbschools.com.

Welcome to the PAHS Library Media Center!
Hundreds of our wonderful library books from last year were never returned. We understand the past nine months have been trying on us all, but if you could check with your children to see if they have any library books and return them to school, we would be so appreciative. Books can be returned to a book drop outside the main entrance to the building.
