Novel Summery...
George and Lennie get dropped off a bus miles away from the California. Lennie suffering from a mild mental disability lead to George taking care of him. George becomes a where that Lennie has been carrying a dead mouse petting it. Him finding out about that is soon carried out by how Lennie hurts many other things and even kills someone. They arrive at the ranch and start working there. After that many things have happened from meeting new characters and having to make sacrifices for the right thing.
Theme Analysis
One major theme in John Steinbeck's novel Of Mice & Men would be loneliness. George and Lennie where not the only characters that struggled against loneliness, it was notable that Candy , Crooks, and Curley's wife have been involved with this theme.
Lennie
A large lumbering, childlike migrant worker. Due to his mild mental disability he has to depend on his friend George.
George
A small, wiry, quick-witted man who travels and cares for Lennie. Although he complains how life would be better without him.
Candy
An aging ranch handyman, candy lost his hand in an accident and worries about his future on the ranch.
"There is a path through the willows and among the sycamores, a path beaten hard by boys coming down from the ranches to swim in the deep pool and beaten hard by tramps who come wearily down from.."
