The Week of August 21st
A Message from Principal Bame
We hope you all enjoyed the 2017 Eclipse today! We had 178 students out of school today. Please remember to send in an Educational Leave form, if you have not done so already. Our front office also has these forms available. You will be proud to know that our students and staff handled the entire event extremely well, enjoying classroom activities and Eclipse Streaming throughout the day. It was very special!
Last Thursday night we had a great PTA general meeting turnout. We hope that you will plan to join us at future meetings, if you were not able to this past week. As a result of these events, our school administration makes more informed decisions, simply because of the valuable conversations that occur with parents. This fall, lookout for "Coffee with the Principal". I plan to have morning and afternoon opportunities to meet with parents, answer questions, and simply talk about school improvement and the overall direction. These dates will be shared very soon!
Tomorrow night, please join us for Spirit Night at Coldstone Creamery. Families who visit for ice cream between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 pm will support our school fundraising efforts. These events are also fun for the students, who see fellow classmates and teachers! Mr. Nixon and I will be visiting between 6:30 and 8:00 pm. Looking forward to see you all!
Please remember to join our school webpage for more information on upcoming Penguin Community events. Thank you for your continued support!
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Raleigh G. Bame

School Parking Lot Concern
- Carpool is moving very quickly in the morning and much faster in the afternoon. We kindly ask that you use our carpool loop for dropping off your child(ren) every morning and afternoon, if you provide your child transportation daily. We do not want parents parking in fire lanes and blocking walkways. We would also like to see parents going through our carpool loop rather than dropping children off at Laura Duncan. We truly believe that our morning carpool experience is safer. Safety first!
