Parents & Guardians,

I can't believe it is May and the end of our school year is quickly approaching! It has been such a pleasure working with your child this year. I wish all graduates moving on to kindergarten success in all you do! I look forward to sharing another year with our students who will return next year!

Please remember, all graduates moving on to kindergarten will take graduation pictures on Wednesday, May 4th. The picture company will provide a velcro wrap gown and a graduation cap for the pictures. Students only need to worry about hair and a beautiful smile! Order forms were sent home. Please return those order forms on May 4th if you would like to purchase pictures. You will have another opportunity to purchase when the pictures print. Sheets will be passed out to all the students who did not originally purchase that will give them information to purchase.

Please see the attached memo for information about Ready for Kindergarten visits that will take place at Elementary schools. If your child will be attending kindergarten at one of our SCEC elementary schools, please visit on your scheduled day if you are able!

Your child's teacher will be sending home information regarding graduation/promotion ceremonies which will take place the week of May 23rd.

Please register your child now for the 2022/2023 school year at http://www.scec.k12.in.us/enrollment

Below, please see the attached Summer Activity Calendar and Summer Activities for fun ideas and activities to reinforce important preschool skills and foundations.

Thank you,

Mrs. Peters, Principal

A Letter From Our Social Worker

Hi Carrie Gosch Parents and Students,

Here we are into May and we are preparing for Kindergarten graduation already. It has been a roller coaster of a school year but we made it. Now that we are approaching the end of the school year we are focusing on continuing with "if your happy and you know it" song to start our school day. In addition, we will be discussing what to expect in Kindergarten classes next school year. We will continue to practice on conscious discipline items such as breathing techniques, going over the five steps of regulation and self-control in the classroom.

In addition, since we are going to be out for the summer months I want everyone to remember to practice safety while going to the playground to play while riding your bicycles and especially when swimming. Never swim alone and always go with others to remain safe. It has been my pleasure working with all of you students and I will miss you over the summer. Congratulations to our new Kindergarten graduates.

Mr. Tony Gonzalez

Railroad Safety Presentations

Carrie Gosch students attended a railroad safety presentation on April 27th. Officer Roberto Favela, Officer JP Furman, Officer James Stout from CSX and Officer Charlie Mattheson from Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad showed students a railroad safety video and then discussed important information from the video with students. The pre-k students were very engaged and participated throughout the presentation. The students received keychains and pencils from the officers. Thank you to these amazing officers for exposing our students to railroad safety to help keep them safe!
