As always, I hope that this finds you well and safe. Tomorrow, we will begin to add in additional live-time for our students during their at-home days. The times that your child's teachers or grade level have identified are no longer optional. Students are expected to be present in their Google Meet. A more detailed breakdown of the additions to our schedules follows below.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has dropped the flu vaccination mandate that had been previously scheduled with a deadline of February 28.

I am excited to announce that I will be offering regularly scheduled virtual "Open Q & A With the Principal" where we can discuss a variety of subjects related to Florence Sawyer School. Our first Virtual Meeting will be scheduled for Monday, February 1 at 7:00 pm. A Zoom link will follow next week with a Google Form to submit questions.

I'd like to thank our School Council for their ongoing work with Massachusetts Safe Routes to School. If you've driven on the FSS Campus recently, you will have noticed student-made signs posted along Mechanic Street to help remind all of us to drive safely. Thank you all for your continued attention to keeping all of our students safe. Please also note that we have a growing number of students walking from campus to the Trinity Church Parking lot or points beyond.

Finally, as Dr. Martin Luther King Day is recognized as a national day of service, I'd like to offer my sincere thanks to so many of you that give so much of your time and energy to our community, the Commonwealth, and our nation. Thank you for the examples you set for our students.

Florence Sawyer School has adjusted the following grade level schedules to comply with the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education’s amendments to the Student Learning Time regulations, 603 CMR 27.00 The following schedule adjustments are not optional for students. The adjustments include combinations of live time on each student’s at-home days and adjustments to the fully remote Wednesday schedules. These adjustments are in addition to the optional schedule of Virtual Student Support which has been in place all year at each grade level.

Florence Sawyer students will be working with O’Connor Studios again this year for school pictures. O’Connor Studios has been fully vetted and approved for safety protocols by our nurse leader Lesa Gulbicki.

We are excited to announce that we will be using The Membership Toolkit application for more than just the directory this year! This year you can also order your online directory membership, purchase discount cards and make donations directly from your computer or the Membership Toolkit app. You can add or update your data the same way you did last year. If you are new to Florence Sawyer , or did not use this application last year you can find the instructions in the virtual backpack, the document is called 2020-2021 FSS Directory Membership toolkit set up.

Payments can be made through Venmo (quickest way to get access), Check Made Payable to FSS PAC (mailed to the school at 100 Mechanic Street Bolton, MA 0174) and soon you will be able to pay directly through the membership toolkit app using PayPal.
