Favorite Christmas Cookie Gathering
Favorite Christmas Cookies/Christmas Books
Literacy, Math, Science, and fun - all bundled into one!
This holiday season, the third grade students at Northwestern Elementary participated in creating a classroom cookie recipe book to share with loved ones. Throughout this activity we were able to put our literacy and math skills into practice! We even carried our learning from school to home as we created our cookie recipes with family. This is when we observed solids actually changing to liquids! Take a look below to see all the learning encompassed in this cozy, holiday project.
We learned Literacy Skills: Reading and writing the recipe down, following directions to make the recipe.
We learned Math Skills: Learning about fractions, measuring, Fahrenheit temperature to cook the cookies.
We learned Science Skills: Observing a solid turing into a liquid.
