Dyer's Fit-A-Thon: Go for the Gold! Friday 4/16 Through Friday 4/30!
Dear Parents,
We are thrilled to announce that we have already raised over $16,000!!! That is AMAZING!!! Many students have still not had a chance to register and SHARE their Fit-A-Thon page! Imagine how much more money we could raise, if everyone created and shared their page with family & friends! As an incentive, Coach Hewitt is once again offering ICEES to students that set up and share their Fit-A-Thon page this weekend! Remember, teachers who have 100% of their students registered will also win a Target gift card for their classroom! (Digital students will receive PAWS points in lieu of ICEES.)

Yearbooks are HERE!
If you forgot to order a yearbook, it's not too late! We have a limited quantity available on MyPaymentsPlus, first come first served. We will deliver MPP yearbook orders each Friday until they sell out!

Field Day 2021!
Hi Dyer families!
Here is all the information you might need for Field Day this year. Field day will be held on the following dates:
Friday 5/7 - Grades K & 1
Friday 5/14 - Grades 2 & 4
Friday 5/21 - Grades 3 & 5
Activities for all grade levels will begin at 9:00a.m. and end by 2:00pm. Classes will eat lunch during their regularly scheduled lunch time. There will be approximately ten to twelve stations set up on the blacktop, back field, and in the gym. Please note: information about a Virtual Field Day opportunity for our digital learners will be forthcoming.
Throughout the day, students will rotate from station to station as a class with their teacher. They will be participating in a wide variety of activities including relays and other team and individual events. We will unfortunately not be able to have Tug of War or Face Painting this year but there will be music playing all day long!
Please make sure that your child wears appropriate shoes for this day and that sunscreen is applied at home prior to arriving at school. Students are allowed to wear hats on Field Day. Restroom and water breaks are scheduled throughout the day and water bottles will be provided. While Field Day might look a little different this year, we are still looking forward to a wonderful day!
T-shirt Information:
T-shirts are optional and can be purchased on MyPaymentsPlus. The deadline to order shirts is next Friday, 4/23! (Note: This is a hard deadline, as we have to get our final order to the vendor by 4/24 in order to have them back in time for field day.) Colors for Field Day shirts were decided on by classroom teachers, if you would like to know what color was selected, please ask your child's teacher. Fifth Grade teachers have decided that the 5th grade t-shirt will also be their field day shirt this year, this way you will only need to order one shirt. Fifth grade parents, be sure you order the 5th grade shirt for your 5th grader on MPP!
Field Day Volunteers:
Per GCPS policy, and social distancing requirements, volunteers and/or visitors will not be permitted to attend Field Day this year.
I am looking forward to these fun filled days with your kiddos!

Student Placement for 2021-2022
When considering student placement for the upcoming school year there are several criteria we consider to ensure academic success for all of our students.
Our job is to ensure that there is a highly-qualified, passionate teacher in every classroom who believes that all students can learn, and challenges each child to meet his/her potential. Each teacher provides a safe and secure environment for students, and each teacher works with the others on the grade level to plan rigorous yet differentiated lessons.
However, even though our teachers provide input on unique student needs, if you have a concern, we want you to be able to share that information with us. You can do so by completing this electronic form. All forms should be submitted no later than Friday, May 14, 2021. We will not be able to accept forms after that date. The form allows you to write about the type of learning environment that will be most successful for your child, along with any additional information that should be considered. Please note,
we do not honor specific teacher requests in the placement of children at Dyer.
