NEW ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES FOR DISTANCE LEARNING
Requirements at the state level by the Minnesota Department of Education are causing some changes in attendance procedures. Daily attendance is required whether a student is on-site or receiving instruction off-site. Starting Quarter 2 (Monday, November 9), students in grades 6-12 who are off-site will be required to check in daily sometime during their school day (8:00-2:40) using the Infinite Campus Attendance System. This check-in system will take less than a minute to complete.
What is changing? Students will now have to "check in" 5 days a week during Distance Learning. (through December 4)
Is this a complicated process? No, but it does require students to log into Infinite Campus and click a box that says they have checked in. Images of the visual directions and video demonstrating how to do this are below.
What happens if my child forgets to check in? An automated message will be sent at the end of each day to parents/guardians of students who did not check in for the day. Students will be counted absent for the day if they do not complete the check-in process.
Having Technology Issues???
If your student is having a technology issue, please call the technology hotline at (507) 444-8630. Allowing the Technology & Innovation team to work directly with the students and families is the most efficient and effective way to support technology during distance learning.
