October 2018

Big picture

National Bullying Prevention Month is a campaign in the United States founded in 2006 by PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center. The campaign is held during the month of October and unites communities nationwide to educate and raise awareness of bullying prevention. Mix It Up @ Lunch Day!

In connection with National Bullying Prevention Month, we will ask students at LAJH to participate with millions of students around the world on the official Mix It Up at Lunch Day on October 24, 2018. The event will require students to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch. When students interact with those who are different from them, biases and misperceptions can fall away. Let’s mix it up, Tigers, and make new friends!

National Red Ribbon Campaign

The National Family Partnership organized the first Nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign, which provides drug awareness by sponsoring the annual National Red Ribbon Campaign™. Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. Students and families all over the nation can participate in their annual contests. LAJH will have its own annual door decorating contest and the winning class will receive a pizza party! Click on the links below for more information.
