Author Visit
Due to our size, only one grade can see him. 6th grade is our lucky group that gets to see him. BUT, if any students purchase a copy of any of his books through Trent, they will not only get to come, but get special reserved seating.

Here is a little more information about the book:
When a bullying incident sends twelve-year-old Nico Holland over the edge of a cliff into the icy waters of Still Cove, where no one ever goes, friends Tyler and Ella - and even 'cool kid' Opal -rush to his rescue... only to discover an island hidden in the swirling mists below.
Shrouded by dense trees and murky tides, the island appears uninhabited, although the kids can't quite shake the feeling that something about it is off. Their suspicions grow when they stumble upon an abandoned houseboat with an array of curiosities inside: odd-looking weapons, unnerving portraits, maps to places they've never heard of, and a glass jar containing something completely unidentifiable.
As the group delves deeper into the unknown, their discoveries - and their lives -begin to intertwine in weird and creepy ways. Something ancient has awakened... and it knows their wishes and dreams - and their darkest, most terrible secrets. Do they have what it takes to face the shadowy things that lurk within their own hearts?
6th grade Parent Time Capsule Letters
Dear Parent or Guardian:
During the first few weeks of school, students will write a letter to themselves that addresses personal goals and thoughts about middle school. All letters will then be sealed in envelopes and placed in a TMS Time Capsule that will be opened in 2021 during 8th Grade Celebration.
We want parents to participate in this activity as well. During the next few weeks, please take some time and write a letter to your 6th grade student. Your letters will also be placed in the time capsule and opened by students during 8th Grade Celebration. In the letter, consider discussing your student’s thoughts about middle school, individual strengths and talents, and praise for his or her personal, social, spiritual, and/or academic accomplishments and values.
When you have finished the letter, seal it in an envelope, write your child’s name and the words “Parent letter 2021” on the outside (see below), and return the envelope to Mrs. Lassley by August 30th.
Should you have questions, please contact Heather Lassley, our Librarian, lassleyh@friscoisd.org
Thank you!
All time capsule letters need to be turned in no later than “Meet the Teacher Night” on August 30th. If you do not turn in your letter to the front office prior to Meet the Teacher Night, there will be several drop boxes for your letter located on campus on August 30th.
