Shiny New Nuts and Bolts
•LVEF Flash Grants~ Reminder that LVEF Flash Grants can be applied for all year long for requests up to $350. In addition to teachers, library media specialists, counselors, psychologists, etc. who serve a broad group of students can apply for these grants. Any questions, reach out to Michelle Dawson.
•Upcoming Assessments~ There is a lot coming up on the assessment calendar. Yikes...Feb is kinda crazy. Here is the link in case you need to refresh your memory.
Specifically the easyCBM window opens on Feb. 5th and closes on Feb. 23rd. Here is the link to what is required and what is optional. Friendly Reminder: Kindergarten teachers–T2 and T3 math is required to be assessed.
•LED upgrade~ One of the leftover bond projects from measure J was to add LED Lighting to every school. The upgrade team (ENGIE) will start the upgrades at Sunset in January/February. This project replaces or retrofits almost every interior light on campus (except new or modernized buildings) to LED, including sensors and controls. The anticipated schedule is Feb 15th-23rd. ENGIE's work hours will be 3:30pm-2am. They have been live scan cleared and have been issued keys for access. Please let me know if you have any questions.
•Updated COVID Protocols for Staff~ On January 9, 2024, the California Department of Public Health and Cal/OSHA updated its COVID-19 isolation guidance. Please click here to access the COVID protocol for staff.

Mobile-friendly monthly menu details that can be translated and printed if desired
Nutritional information such as carbohydrate, protein, and calories for entrees and sides
Filters and icons to identify vegetarian options and items including egg, soy, wheat, and dairy for those with dietary allergies or intolerances

Items that have been around a while.
•Sunset Extracurriculars~ The newest list is here! Select the link if you want to view the list.
•Sending Blackboard Messages in English and Spanish: We can and should consider sending our Blackboard emails in Spanish as well as English.
•IT Help tickets for Kendall. I HIGHLY recommend that you do not text or email Kendall with requests. The district tracks the need for these services via a help ticket. If we only have a few help tickets then they may end up cutting services that we desperately need.
