Piner Olivet Union School District

Vision: Inspiring joyful and innovative learning in an ever-changing world.

Mission: As a community, we engage in authentic, dynamic, and relevant learning that develops each student’s academic, emotional and social growth.

Greetings Olivet Families!!

We hope this newsletter finds you well and finding ways to be grateful during this challenging time.

This week, we would like to formally welcome Dr. Tina Rosari as the new Interim Superintendent!! Dr. Rosari comes to us with a wealth of experience! Most recently, she served as Principal for Jack London Elementary, and this year, as Director of Innovation for our district. Dr. Rosari lives in Healdsburg with her husband and lovely 4-year old daughter. We are excited to have her at the helm during this challenging time. Thank you Dr. Rosari, for continuing to support the success of our students and district!!

In other news, the staff continues to meet weekly to brainstorm and share ideas on Distance Learning. Good news - the majority of our kiddos are engaging with their teachers and continuing to learn from home! I have also been zooming into the classrooms - what fun to see the students! I continue to encourage them to read often and practice math - they will all soon be reporting to the next grade level - those little kinders will be first graders, and so on! Our sixth graders will be moving on to middle school - we will miss them! Many of our six graders have been going to Olivet since kindergarten...it is bittersweet to not be able to have our traditional graduation at the end of May for them. However, we are working on a virtual graduation and hope to have an in-person celebration when the time comes during which we can do it safely.

Know of anyone not getting our weekly newsletters? Please have them reach out to Azura to update their contact information: aleon@pousd.org.

Also, please take a look at our new website! Thank you to JL librarian Pamela Kennemore, for her work on this!!

Wishing all the mothers out there a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

In health,

Dr. Anna
