What is PAW time?
Good Afternoon PAW Panther Families. I wanted to reach out to you today to introduce some of the materials that we will be sharing with your students through their PAW Time. Students and staff focus on building relationships, providing social/emotional support, strategies for success, and team building in PAW Time. It is a smaller group that meets first thing in the morning to help students start their day with a positive experience.
One of the social emotional learning objectives this year is the introduction of the “R-Factor” as a decision making tool to improve outcomes by helping students understand what they control and how to make the best choice for them in any situation. The R-Factor stresses using a disciplined response in order to manage your response to an event that happens within your 20 square feet. Several successful businesses, sports teams and schools all utilize the R-Factor and you may recognize the equation “E+R=O” as one of the core principles of the program. PLSD staff was trained on the R-Factor last year and I look forward to introducing it to our students this year.
We will be introducing the R-Factor in PAW Time on the week of 9/21 during the in-person days.

Attendance on virtual days is the student's responsibility
We believe the majority of log in issues with Infinite Campus have now been resolved. Students must log into Infinite Campus for their attendance and Google Classroom daily. They can login to Infinite Campus once and do their attendance for the entire day so they do not need to login multiple times. If your student is unsure of how to post their attendance on virtual days, please see the directions below. If they cannot login to Infinite Campus, please reach out to their school counselor, Ryan Max (ryan_max@plsd.us) - 7th grade and Sarah Geiger (sarah_geiger@plsd.us) - 8th grade.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Chromebook restart message
If students see a message telling them they will be logged out soon, this is because they have not turned off or logged out of their computer for some time. This can cause issues with memory and other issues so logging out and right back in will solve any issues. If they ignore the message they will be logged out by the computer. They are allowed to sign right back in. Worst case scenario it might kick them while they are working on something but advise them to log out and right back in if they see that message.
