Greetings Woodcrest Families,
As the weather changes, we often begin to notice things that have been covered by snow, like scarves on a playground. Or, we take the time to slow down the walk to and from the front door to the car, rather than rushing from one warm place to another. These moments to take note or slow down have been important to me lately at Woodcrest.
While I have kept a constant eye on instruction, student experience, and the general health and safety protocols we have in place since the start of the school year, this last week, I have taken even more note of the care staff show to ensure a safe and healthy environment for learning. It is a particular point of appreciation I have for our students and staff that our families should know about.
Some families have reached out to the school looking for information to inform their family decision or to make a change in their student’s learning model for trimester 3. As a reminder, this is the week to make any requests to change learning models for trimester 3. If your family wants to request a change, please contact Yesica Garay-Muñoz via email or by phone at 763-600-5802, by Friday, February 26. As you reach out and request a change, I would like to note that any change from one learning model to another will impact who your student’s teacher is.
This Saturday evening, I hope you will tune in to the Panthers for a Purpose virtual giving event at 7 p.m. (There is a silent auction connected to the event will be open until 8:30 p.m.) Get a sneak peek of the program in the video included in today’s newsletter. You are not going to want to miss this free, fun event that also supports a very worthy cause.
Moved by the spirit of Woodcrest’s 2020-2021 school mantra Juntos es Mejor/Better Together, I will be inviting families to meet with me and help me gain insight into the experience you and your children are having. I will begin reaching out to families this week. If you are interested in meeting, please contact me at 763-600-5110 or by e-mail. Thank you for all you do for your children and our community.
Sincerely,
John Franke
