Literacy Night! March 1 6:15-7:30 pm
Literacy Night is coming! Mark your calendars for a night of fun reading based activities, snacks, and prizes!
If you’d like to sit with your child at lunch we’d love to have you. Lunch begins at 11:47 a.m. If you wish to eat the school lunch, please call the office to order a tray.
Homework
Your child's nightly homework: Read 20 minutes every night!
AND math facts for those who have not yet reached LEVEL Z in addition.
I'm changing up the leveled books I've been sending home. We really need to focus on comprehension at this point in the year. So, instead of the leveled books I will be sending home a 2 sided sheet with 2 stories, comprehension questions, a vocabulary activity and some word work activities. Those do not have to be returned, but are just another option to help with comprehension and fluency.
For those of you who have enjoyed the books I've been sending, I'm going to be including a link to a pdf file with the reading level listed under the title. Your child knows their reading level and should be able to tell you so that you can download the correct book. You don't have to print them, you can read them right from your device. If you would like the corresponding worksheets, I'm attaching those in pdf form as well.
You can find those links at the very bottom of this newsletter, underneath my picture/ contact information.
