A Note from Miss Caitlyn
Dear Lincoln, Logan & McPherson County 4-H Families,
Lincoln County Fair is wrapped up and now it is Logan and McPherson County's turns! Come join the fun August 8-13. Please see below for information about specific times and dates of events.
State fair static exhibits must be turned into the extension office by August 19th. Keep in mind extension staff will be transporting these exhibits to Grand Island. Please have exhibits protected and ready to transport when you bring them into the office. Static exhibitors and their families have access to discount ticket passes! If you plan to go to the State Fair to see your exhibits, call the extension office for more information about your ticket discount. :)
Have a fun and safe rest of your summer!
Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns,
Miss Caitlyn

2022 State Fair Entries are OPEN
State Fair Contests
Most of the 4-H contests at the Nebraska State Fair do not require youth to participate or qualify at a county-level contest, including Weed & Grass Identification, Horticulture Judging, Tree Identification, Insect Identification, Dog Skillathon, Culinary Challenge, Chicken BBQ, and Dairy Judging. If you’re interested in any of these, be sure to review the rules and eligibility requirements at 4h.unl.edu/state-fair-contests and complete the online entry process Wednesday, August 10 by 8:00 p.m. CST.
Companion Animal Showmanship Contest
Take your 4-H companion animal project to the next level with our Video Companion Animal Showmanship Contest! This state-level contest is an opportunity for youth to showcase the knowledge and skills they have developed in their 4-H companion animal project. The best part? Youth can participate from the comfort of home! Video entries are due by 5:00 p.m. CST on Monday, August 15. Visit 4h.unl.edu/companion-animal-showmanship to learn more!
