Lane Smith is an illustrator for childrens books, he loves Halloween and 'scary' monsters. He uses pens ink and colored pencils to make his book drawings and collages.
Lane Smith was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on August 25th, 1959 and he moved to Corona, California with his family at age three. During Lanes childhood he absolutely loved the old Universal Studios' monster movies, and after school him and his brother would build forts and collect lizards.
Lane was interested in illustrating so he put his drawings in a portfolio and brought them to the big apple. His drawings were posted in the Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times Magazine, The Boston Globe, American Bookseller, and more. Soon he became an illustrator for childrens books such as, Its a book, Math Curse, Squids will be Squids, and more.
Lane Smith started out with wanting to be an illustrator he took control and brought his drawings to the big apple. He has made so many accomplishments and now hes doing his dream, illustrating.
