A Look Ahead
School Closed for Memorial Day 5/27
Our campus will be closed on Monday, May 27th in observance of Memorial Day. Please take a moment to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
We hope you enjoy this time with friends and family. We will see you back at school on Tuesday, May 28th :)
Citizen of the Month Awards 5/31
On Friday, May 31st we will hold our final Citizen of the Month awards of the year at 8am on the yard.
Throughout the month of May, students have been learning what it means to display courage; mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. Each student votes for someone in their class who has displayed these qualities and believes they should be recognized.
Each month, AMA has focused on a different trait based off the seven habits of effective leaders. At the end of May, we will have proudly given out awards for all nine traits: respect, responsibility, gratitude, self-discipline, perseverance, citizenship, trustworthiness, and courage. Congratulations to all of those students! We look forward to seeing who is awarded next school year.
We will also host our final musical performances on this day in the MPR.
Please see below for your child's performance time.
TK/K~1:00pm-1:30pm
1st~1:30pm-2:00pm
2nd~2:00pm-2:30pm
Multi-Age~2:30pm-3:00pm
All Citizen of the Month Awards are formal dress uniform days.
Standardized Testing 6/3-6/7
As we near the end of the school year, our first grade through fifth grade students will be taking the Comprehensive Testing Program from Monday, June 3rd to Friday, June 7th.
The Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP) is a rigorous online assessment provided by ERB (Educational Records Bureau) for high achieving students in areas such as reading, listening, vocabulary, writing, and mathematics. Verbal and quantitative reasoning subtests are also part of the CTP beginning in Grade 3. The CTP helps compare content specific, curriculum-based performance to the more conceptual knowledge base found in reasoning tests.
It is important that students are well-rested and arrive to school on time. Students who arrive after 8:00am will need to wait in the office or return to school after testing is over.
Be sure to pack a nourishing snack and lunch, along with a full water bottle.
We are confident that everyone will do their best!
