What does accountability look like?
What does it mean to have accountability? If you take responsibility for your own actions, you have accountability. If you make a mistake and someone asks you about it, when you admit your mistake without trying to lie you are holding yourself accountable for what you did. Accountability is made from two words, “account” and “ability.” An account is a place where you keep track of gains and losses. Ability means that you are capable of doing something. Are you working your hardest to be accountable for your own life and your own work? Being accountable helps you to stack up success and not have to deal with so many losses. Be accountable and you will be a winner in life!
Accountability mean no excuses.
A good life goal is to learn how to hold yourself accountable. That means that even when you don’t feel like doing your work, or cleaning your room, or being nice to that annoying kid who sits next to you, you do it anyway because you are holding yourself accountable. Another life goal that is even harder is learning how to hold other people accountable! If you see your friend or someone in your family making a bad decision or not helping out with their responsibilities, you are helping them when you hold them accountable and help them to make better choices. If they get angry, just let them know that you care about them, and you want them to do better.
Accountability helps you to reach your goals
When it comes to being accountable, sometimes it’s hard. It can be easier to just let things slide and not do what you are responsible for doing. Pushing yourself to finish the task instead of socializing, getting your work done instead of playing video games, or owning up to a mistake instead of just lying about it - all of these things can be difficult to do. Being able to push yourself and hold yourself accountable for your responsibilities will help you throughout your whole life to be a more successful and trustworthy person.
