- AVID is a fourth- through twelfth-grade system designed to prepare students in the "academic middle" who have a desire to go to college and are willing to work hard.
- It has a proven track record of bringing out the best in students and in closing the achievement gap.
- The AVID curriculum is based on rigorous standards.
- Developed by middle and senior high school teachers in collaboration with college professors, AVID is driven by the WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, Reading) method.
