We'd Love to Feature Your School in Our Newsletter!

Our IMLEA newsletter is published two times per year. We really enjoy featuring different schools from throughout the state. Do you have any special programs, outstanding staff or students that others would learn from? Please send any articles or photos to Shirley Wright by this Friday.

Schools to Watch

What IS Schools to Watch? It is a national alliance of educators, programs, foundations, and associations committed to promoting the academic performance and healthy development of young adolescents. We are fortunate that Indiana is one of the participating states, with financial support provided by Lilly Endowment. Many may not realize that this program is absolutely free! The first step involves a self study that can be beneficial to your school, whether or not you decide to complete the entire application. A list of Indiana schools who have achieved Schools to Watch recognition can be found on this page of our website. Feel free to contact our office or any of these schools with questions.

While the deadline to apply for designation this year is approaching this Friday, you are welcome to use the evaluation tool at any time-- for free.

Session Links and Evaluation Form

Just a reminder that you can access presentations from our conference using this link. We also appreciate all of those who have completed the evaluation form, and encourage others to fill it out. We will use that data at our next board meeting as we move ahead with plans for next year's conference.

Loved Our Conference? Want Even More Interaction with Middle Level Educators?

You can still register for the AMLE Convention in Philadelphia. While some of the hotels are sold out, there are still some available. Discounted rates are still applicable through this Friday.

This Week's Poll

Do you have a twitter account for your school? Please answer in this Google form. If you do, please list it in the second question. We will create a twitter list for middle schools in Indiana.

Results of the last poll: Every reply included things schools had done to assist those affected by disasters. Ideas included: money drive and homecoming tailgate collection, $1 spirit days, assisting an animal shelter caring for displaced pets, and selling radio shoutouts.
