Elise Middle School

You will be missed!

As my time at Elise Middle School comes to an end, I want each and every one of you to know that I am always available via email at,us. I feel that just as I am really beginning to get to know each of you, it's time for me to leave. Great things are happening at Elise Middle School and I hope that we can keep in contact and share as we continue "Growing to Greatness". Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to visit your classrooms and for letting me share feedback with you!

SOME of the great activities going on throughout the school!

Although there are MANY more great things happening at Elise, these are just a few that I've been able to take pictures of. Keep up the great work

Interviews with World Leaders!

Ms. O'Connor's class gets creative as they dress as their historical figures and answer questions about their person! First, These students truly needed to know about their person in order to "get into character". Now that is rigor!

One for the Road - something to ponder as you end your week

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”

– Robert Louis Stevenson

Life isn’t always about immediate results. As educators, we build young minds so that one day they will bloom into the beautiful plants that we know they CAN become. Often, it is those students who need us the most that we tend to be frustrated with on a daily basis. YOU can plant that seed….be the one to truly make a difference for that child’s future. Take some time to think about those students who may have frustrated you this week, but truly need you in their lives.

Chris Jonassen

I am currently a principal intern at West Middle School in Montgomery County and a member of Cohort 3 in the Sandhills Leadership Academy. I aspire to be the best I can be and I'm focused on positively impacting public education! Before this year I taught predominantly 5th grade and most recently 3rd grade.

Family and education have always been important aspects of my life. Family values such as communication, collaboration, support and transparency have driven who I am personally and professionally. I always seek new challenges and opportunities and value education and continuous self-growth.
