Welcome Back!

We were very excited to welcome our students and staff back to school on Tuesday! We had a wonderful week. It was great to get back into the routine and see everyone's smiling faces! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday break!!

Big Hollow School District Mission

The District will provide a strong educational foundation that empowers students to excel and instills the desire for life-long learning.

Winter Benchmark Testing

Students in grades K-4 will begin winter benchmark testing next week. Students will take MAP tests in both math and reading. Students may also take Aims/Web tests in reading and math. Results will be shared with parents.

You can help your child by ensuring they have a good breakfast, and are on time to school each day.

These tests help us to chart progress of our students throughout the years. It helps our teachers set goals with students. It helps us to ensure quality programs for our students.

Cafeteria Expectations

Please see above. You might see these posters hanging around our school! Our expectations are practiced by every child. We encourage students to be STAR students! S- Self Control, T- Take Responsbility, A- Attitude (have a positive one!) and R- Respect. We will be reinforcing these expectations to maximize student learning by maintaining a quiet, orderly environment. Please review these with your child, and also ask your child if they've earned some cafeteria expectation STARbucks! :)
