Library Media Center Hours:

Monday: 8:20 am - 3:00 pm

Tuesday - Friday: 7:55 am* - 3:45 pm

(subject to early closing when necessary)


* Stop by the Guidance Office to get a pass to use the library before school begins.

  • Books may be borrowed for four weeks
  • Books may be renewed twice - just bring your borrowed book into the library to be renewed and stamped with a new due date!

  • Reference books may be borrowed overnight
  • Please return any borrowed items before 1st period the following school day

  • New magazines (in protective covers) do not circulate
  • Older issues may be borrowed for up to three days
  • Older issues can be found in the blue crates outside the library office

When borrowing from the TMS Library Media Center be sure to:
  • Bring your item to the circulation desk
  • Provide your Student ID #
  • Know the due date


When returning materials:

  • Please return books as soon as you finish - there may be another student waiting to borrow that same book!
  • All materials should be returned to the circulation desk
Checking Out & Returning Materials:

Reserving a Book:

If you know that a book is available at our library, but is already checked out by another student:
  • Fill out an orange card found at the circulation desk
  • Include your first & last name, the title and author of the book, and your homeroom


When the book is returned, you will be notified of its availability during homeroom.

Overdue Notices:

  • If your book is overdue you will receive a notice during homeroom
  • Overdue notices will tell you which book needs to be returned to the library
  • Please return materials as soon as possible

Databases:

  • You will find several databases to aid in your research (Brainpop, Learn 360, World Book Online, Facts of File and SIRS Discoverer)

Destiny:

The TMS Library Media Center uses the Destiny database for its online library catalog.
  • Use Destiny to see whether a book is a part of our collection, if it is available, or on loan
  • To access this database use either of the iPads at the circulation desk
  • From class or from home, visit the TMS Library Media webpage (see above) and click on the "Search our Library Collection" tab to gain access

Our facility:

Front Entrance Display:
  • A special entrance display faces you when you enter the library media center and is updated monthly
  • New book titles can be found on the shelving along the counter in front of the windows


Technology:

  • 14 personal desktop computers & 26 Chromebooks are available
  • A printer/copier is also available for student use (black & white copies only)
