A Word From Mrs. Loor
Dear Franklin Families,
Happy Hanukkah for those who celebrate! Mrs. Wang's class had special guests who came in to teach the class about the holiday. As I've said before, I value, love and appreciate the diversity of religion, cultures and traditions within our community.
Thank you again to our amazing PTO for providing a wonderful holiday luncheon for our staff. We really enjoyed the food and treats! We are grateful for our partnership with the PTO to create the best school experience we can for our children.
I hope that you find joy in family and friends this holiday season. Have a wonderful week off from school! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and see you in 2023!
With Warmest Regards,
Mrs. Loor

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!
Winter weather and freezing temperatures have arrived! It is important that students dress appropriately for the cold temperatures by wearing long pants, jackets, hats and gloves to school to ensure their health and safety while outside at morning line-up and recess. Risks associated with underdressing in the cold are hypothermia and frostbite, both of which can lower an individual’s immune system, making them more susceptible to viruses.
In addition, hypothermia occurs more quickly in children, and many children are not as in tune with their bodies and the symptoms of hypothermia as adults. This is due to the fact that children do not develop the full capacity to feel cold until at least 7 years old.
Fly high Falcons, but before you do, remember to put on your coat, hat and gloves!
For health-related questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Zanelli, our school nurse. Her email is azanelli@summit.k12.nj.us. You can also visit the Summit Public Schools Virtual Health Office for additional information.
