Are you ready for an exciting semester of Japanese?
In this course, you will further develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in Japanese. You will practice communicating with each other, your coach, and me, your teacher!
Throughout the semester, you will have an assignment and/or a quiz due EVERY DAY for this class (Mon through Fri).
You will learn about Japanese culture in this course will be addressed through a series of videos, culture notes, and discussions that you will participate in.
There are no exams for this class. However, you will have two weekly quizzes. In this course you will only have 1 attempt on your quizzes so you must prepare for them by completing the lesson assignments and attending coaching.
You will complete a mid-term project and a final project demonstrating your ability to communicate in Japanese using the language you have learned in this course and of course, Japanese 1. Remember, language builds on itself.
Please keep in mind that although this is an online course, it is not self-paced. That means we have due dates and deadlines for assignments, just like any other class!
You can bookmark it or add it to your favorites.

What is Language Coaching?
Language coaching is a graded assignment where you and a group of classmates will meet with a person called your "Language Coach" twice a week, for 45 minutes each session. This is in addition to your regular assignments for the week.
You will be graded on your participation and attendance in each session. Don't worry about getting everything right - coaching is your place to practice, make mistakes, and learn from them!
In the session, you will practice the grammar and vocabulary you are learning in each week's lesson. It is your opportunity to practice SPEAKING Japanese with a honest-to-goodness Japanese speaker! Funtimes!
Coaching will start the third week of the course, on February 2nd! It is considered an assignment that you need to do each week in addition to your other assignments!
Sign up for a time with your language coach by logging in and going to the "コーチ my coach" section of the course. OR by using the handy form below!
Remember: Language coaching is worth 20% of your grade!
