End of the Year Awards
Those students who have not met the expectations of safe, responsible, and respectful will be notified the week before the program, and will have the opportunity for character education during their grade level program.
FTMS East Does Amazing at the BPA Nationals
The website design team of Amarpreet Grewal, Elyse Espiritu, Erika England, and Komal Dhillon finished 11th in the country.
Lillian Knaack continued to dominate the Prepared Speech event by, for the third straight year, finishing in the top 10 in the nation. This year, she finished 8th in the United States.
Natalia Kinnick took home a pair of silver medals by finishing 2nd in Business Fundamentals and followed up her National Championship last year with a 2nd place finish in Entrepreneurship Exploration.
Last but not least, for the 2nd year in a row, FTMS East had a NATIONAL CHAMPION! This year the Video Production Team of Olivia Tran, Maddie Lewis, Lillian Knaack and Natalie Kinnick brought home the National Championship trophy to FTMS East!
8th Grade Semi-Formal
Student Council is hosting an 8th grade Semi-Formal Hawaiian Ball on Friday, May 10th from 6:00-8:00PM. Tickets may be purchased during 8th grade lunch, May 7th-10th for $3. Please be aware that any student earning a referral May 6th-May 10th will not be permitted to the
dance.
There will be a modified dress code for the dance that evening. All dresses must meet the fingertip rule. The student's dress must come to the student's finger tips when the student has their arms down to their side. All dresses must also have straps that are two finger wide width. A sweater or shawl must be used to cover the students’ shoulders if this rule is not met. No clothing revealing bare midriffs will be allowed. All shirts must be able to be tucked in. Clothing which reveals undergarments, is studded, has spikes, or chained are all prohibited. Hats may be worn at the dance. All other dress code expectations will remain the same as outlined in our student handbook. All students will be checked for compliance to the dress code prior to entering the dance per school staff. Violations will not be permitted inside the event. If you have any questions about the dress code for the dance, please direct those questions to Assistant Principal, Mr. Smith, robert.smith@ftcsc.org.
If you are parent looking to volunteer for the Semi-Formal please again contact Mr. Smith so he can put you on the volunteer list. Again, mark your calendar for Friday, May 10th for the 8th grade semi-formal!

UPDATED POLICY-If you are picking up your student from school, you must enter the Main Office before we send a pass for the student. Please do not call ahead of time, we can no longer send a pass early. We want to make sure students are spending as much time as possible in the classroom.
If your student will miss more than one day due to a vacation, attending camp, going out of town for tournaments, etc., please email our Principal, Matt Vandermark at matt.vandermark@ftcsc.org, giving the student’s name, reason for absence and dates student will miss school. The student will then be called to the office and receive a form to have their teachers sign so they can receive make up work. The student will then turn that form in to the Main Office before the absence begins.
If your student goes to a Doctors appointment, please bring a Dr. note/return to school note if you want the absence marked as Medical.
Naming of the FC High School Football Stadium
There has been interest expressed regarding naming of the Franklin Central High School football field. In alignment with Franklin Township Community Schools Board policy 7250, our School Board shall appoint a Facility Naming Committee which will follow the procedure listed in the policy to identify a person for whom the facility may be named. The Facility Naming Committee will start accepting nominations for naming the Franklin Central football field starting Tuesday, April 30, 2019 for the required period of 30 days. You will find the nomination form on our website: https://ftcsc.org/facility-naming-nomination/. The nomination forms must contain a minimum of 50 original signatures of Franklin Township residents. All nomination forms are due by midnight, May 29, 2019. On May 30, 2019, the Facility Naming Committee will then announce the submitted names to the public. Community residents will have until midnight, June 28, 2019 to submit written comments about their preference of the submitted names to the FTCSC Administration Office. The Facility Naming Committee will then select one name to present to the Franklin Township Community School Corporation Board of Education for approval at the July 22, 2019 School Board meeting.
FMTS Robotics Camp
The East BeastBots will be hosting the 4th Annual robotics camp from July 22nd-26th from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The camp is open to incoming 6-8 grade students. Early registration end May 26th. Early registration cost is $100. Registration after May 26th will cost $115.
HS students with robotics experience can volunteer as mentors for the week.

Go to www.MyFTEF.org to register and find event details. Pre-registration discounts are available with registrations before 11:59pm EDT on Sunday May 5.
FCHS National Honor Society has partnered with Changing Footprints and will collect shoes during packet pickup and event registration. Complete times and details attached.
