Parent Volunteer and Vaccination Guidelines
Montgomery County Public Schools requires school volunteers and partnership agencies to complete certain compliance measures in order to volunteer within our school district.
- Online Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect Training via their myMCPS Classroom/Canvas account
- COVID-19 Vaccination Attestation - NEW!
The new COVID-19 Vaccination Attestation module will require the volunteer to
Attest to being fully vaccinated
Upload their Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination from the Department of Health, and
Agree to specific expectations of masking and social distancing while in MCPS facilities.
Halloween Celebrations
Here are the Halloween details:
- There will be a classroom party hosted by no more than two room parents overseeing fun games, puzzles, or other activities. The room parents must complete the volunteer training and vaccination attestation.
- The celebration will be held in classrooms from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. There will be no parade.
- Costumes must be easily worn on top of regular clothes without the assistance of a parent/adult. Students will change into their costumes in the classrooms and need to continue to wear their masks.
- Students should not bring fake guns or swords or sharp objects.
- No food or eating should occur during the party due to allergies and the need to continue wearing masks for everyone’s safety.
- A class picture will be taken of the students at the party in costume and sent out to parents.
- Room parents must complete the volunteer course which includes COVID and Child Abuse and Neglect courses.
- Parents may opt out of their child participating in the party and an alternative activity will be provided - Please reach out to your classroom teacher to share if you want your child to attend the alternative activity.
