AMHS Weekly Update

Week of August 9-13, 2021

THANK YOU Faculty, Staff, Students, and Parents!!!!!

Thank you for a great first week of school!!! Our students are getting adjusted to being back in school. This week we spent time getting our students acclimated to the building and understanding the rituals and routines of each class and our school expectations. Parents, please be sure that you have reviewed our school dress code and the academic and discipline guidelines with your student. If your student has not submitted the "Academic and Discipline Expectations" form to their homeroom teacher, please be sure to review the form, initial, sign, and return it to Ms. Ellis in the front office tomorrow.

NWEA MAP Assessment (Fall 2021)

The Assessment Administration Department for the DeKalb County School District has set the Fall MAP testing window to open on Thursday, August 5, 2021, and close on Thursday, September 30, 2021. However, your student’s school will communicate his/her specific Fall MAP test window. Arabia Mountain High School's 9th and 10th-grade students will begin their MAP assessment on Monday, August 9, 2021. Please encourage your student to do their very best on the diagnostic assessment as it will be used to measure student achievement and growth.

Dual Enrollment and WBL Students

Students who are enrolled in Dual Enrollment or WBL for this semester must leave campus to attend their classes or attend work. Students are required to sign-in/sign out near the attendance office daily. Students remaining on campus are in violation of the Dual Enrollment or WBL agreement and will need to be rescheduled for classes on campus to ensure their attendance and safety.
