Rotary Student of the Month
WARRIOR TIME COMPETITION to support Childhood Cancer Awareness and to honor Eowyn Maynes - 9/10/21
Please encourage your student to bring new toys or art supplies to donate to Children's Mercy Hospital during their Warrior Time class. The winning Warrior Time class will receive a pizza party!
From Eowyn's family:
"Fight Like a Princess was started to help our family cover the cost of medical bills when our youngest daughter, Eowyn, was diagnosed with DIPG (a rare form of pediatric brain cancer) in June of 2017. On her 5th birthday, Sept 10, 2017, the Mayor of Smithville declared Sept 10th Fight Like a Princess Day, and we held a huge fundraiser/birthday bash for her in downtown Smithville. Eowyn passed away on May 13, 2018. Since her death we continue to run the foundation in her memory to help other families. Every year since her death we have held a toy drive on her birthday to keep her memory alive and support Children's Mercy Hospital."
ACT Prep Workshop - 9/26/21

Words of the Week - Is It 'Used To' or 'Use To'?
What to Know
Used to refers to something familiar or routine, as in "I'm used to getting up early for work," or to say that something repeatedly happened in the past like "we used to go out more." Use to typically occurs with did; "did you use to work there?" or "it didn't use to be like that," describing something in the past that doesn't happen anymore.
