Mrs. Green's Class Newsletter
Room 203
HI PARENTS,
I hope you were able to make it to the Winter Sing today. The students have been working hard all week and they did a wonderful job! Don't forget to turn in permission slips for our field trip to Covenant Village if you haven't already. It's always fun for the students to get to perform the Winter Sing to another audience.
We were also able to meet with our 2nd grade buddies this week. We made snowflakes to take with us to Covenant Village next week. Check out the photos below!
Lastly, we are going to push back our Social Studies test a day or two. If you are going to be leaving for vacation early, please let me know so I can have your child take it early.
Thanks,
Mrs. Green and Ms. Ruiz
MATH
In Chapter 4 we will continue working with fractions. This week, students learned how to multiply a fraction by a whole number as well as a fraction by a fraction. We spent some time solving word problems involving these concepts.

Social Studies
In Social Studies, we have been learning about government. The students learned that the Articles of Confederation were a weak system. James Madison organized the Constitutional Convention to revise the articles. There were many debates and compromises made at the convention. The students were given a state and had to decide if they would have supported the New Jersey Plan or Virginia Plan.
