Moose Minute
Mrs. James' 1st Grade Class - Crozet Elementary School
This Week's Sneak Peek: September 20, 2013
Monday
Crozet Elementary students celebrated International Dot Day! We read The Dot and created our own dot art to hang in the hallway. All kindergarten and first graders "connected the dots" in the K-1 stairwell. Stop by for a look!

Tuesday
Tuesday was our first day of guided reading groups! Students are grouped across the three first grade classrooms. Most students have sight words and nightly text copies for reading practice. Fluency reading books will come home soon!
Wednesday
We enjoyed a surprise lunch outside! The weather was perfect for an impromptu lunch by the butterfly garden. In the afternoon we continued our travels in Crozet, and enjoyed watching the Crozet Rap. I told the class I would share the link with you!

Thursday
We love Ralph! One of our favorite times of day is read aloud. We are reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle and are enjoying every minute! Ask your child about Ralph's recent encounter with a vacuum cleaner.
Friday
Writing workshop ROCKS! Our class loves to write and publish books. This week we worked on books about things that we like. We love to share our writing with our friends!
