Free and Reduced Lunch Application
Even though the State of Maine has agreed to fund breakfast and lunch for all Maine public school students, if a student qualifies for free or reduced lunch, federal funding will continue for those students as it did pre-pandemic to offset the cost of meals. This demographic data also informs our school funding through the state and helps pay for programming - including Title 1 Literacy and Math - here at CPS.
Even if you think your family may not qualify, we appreciate you taking the time to complete the form. If you use the paper form that was sent at the beginning of school, please put it in an envelope and it will be sent confidentially to our nutrition office. If you need another form, give the office a call at 207-445-1550 and we can send another copy home as well.
Thank you for your support of our schools!
An Update from our PTO
Above you will see the basket raffle categories for this year's Craft Show. If you are new to the schools: every year during the Craft Show we create baskets to raffle off during the show. Each grade level is assigned a basket category. This is a huge fundraiser for us as we depend solely on family donations to fill these baskets. Your donation to this event is greatly appreciated and all money received from the raffle goes directly back into the schools. Thank you.
Our next meeting: Thursday, October 6th at 6pm via Microsoft Teams. If you'd like to join us but don't have FB to see the link, please email us at email@example.com. Hope to see you there!

From the Nurse's Office
The “one chip challenge” seems to have found its way to China Primary School. This chip and other “hot, spicy” chips have come to school in lunch boxes for snack time. This is dangerous because of the reactions kids (or anyone) can have to not only eating the chips but also other children who get the spices on their hands and then touch their face or eyes. This chip (or any spicy chips) should not be sent to school.
Below is a link to just one article I found about students being sent to the emergency room after eating this chip.
