Family Engagement Mission
FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
I've included some important FAQs below for our return to school. We look forward to seeing you at our Back to School Meet & Greet event on Thursday, August 18th from 3-5pm. At this event students and families can meet their teacher, pick up school supply kits, grab an ice cream treat and meet some of our community partners.
Have a great weekend Jaguars!
Ms. Humphrey

Frequently Asked Questions
What are Sunbeam's school hours?
Doors open each morning for breakfast at 8:05am. The school day is from 8:35am-3:05pm.
We follow the CMSD dress code expectations. We do not require students to wear a specific uniform, but they are expected to adhere to the guidelines identified in the student code of conduct.

When will I find out who my child's teacher is?
If you visit us for Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 18, between 3 and 5pm, you will get your child's homeroom assignment and will have the opportunity to meet the teacher. If you are unable to attend the Meet and Greet, we will have staff ready to greet your child on the first day of school and direct him/her to their classroom.
May I request a specific teacher, or request a change of classroom?
Due to classrooms being full, we are unable to honor these requests.
Can my child bring a water bottle or snacks to school?
Please send your child with a reusable water bottle! We no longer have drinking fountains, but rather bottle-filling stations. We are unable to provide cups to all students throughout every day, so it is very important that students come to school daily with a reusable water bottle. It would be very helpful if students came each day with a full bottle of water to start off with.
Food brought to school should be packed in a lunchbox or bag. Other food and opened bags or bottles will be removed from backpacks at the front door.
Can my child bring a cell phone to school?
Your child may bring their phone to school; however, they are to remain powered completely off and stored securely in their Yondr pouch that stays with them. The school is not responsible for the safe keeping of students' phones. Are you wondering what Yondr is? Click here for more information.
My student's computer is broken. How do I get a new one?
Student technology can be replaced this weekend at our district's technology event at East Professional Center (see flyer below). For support with software or log in issues you can call our tech department at 216-838-0440. Your student may also bring their device to school and technology staff will be in house during the first weeks of school to replace devices. All students should bring their devices back to school to begin the year.
