Sipley School Weekly Howl
Week of December 4, 2017
"I can choose to do anything in this world, but I chose to be a teacher. I am here to help students learn and grow. Please talk to me when you have something bothering you."
Please enjoy a couple positive messages from our friend, Principal Kafele! For those new to Sipley, we had Principal Kafele here last year with us and we read one of his books, "Closing the Attitude Gap."
It is always good to self reflect. Principal Kafele suggested talking to yourself in the mirror and sharing your evidence.
I expect all students to follow the expectations below. I expect teachers to line students up in their room and give them the hallway expectations or have your line leader share the expectations. I expect teachers to make sure that students who struggle with one another are not standing near one another. I expect teachers to have a view of both the front and end of the line at all times by positioning oneself in the proper spot in the hall, which requires stopping points. This involves intentionality! I expect all students to meet this expectation and if they can't, I expect reteaching of the expectations. And more reteaching. And more reteaching.
- C - Level 0 in the Hallway - No Talking
- H - Ask an adult
- A - Walking in the hallway with a pass or an adult
- M - Walking in a line with the right foot on the gray tile and hands and feet to self
- P - Respect our learning environment
- S - Get where you need to go safely and on time
