Curtin Leadership Academy Spelling Bee Finalists!
Congratulations are extended to all of our spelling bee contestants! The following students are going to represent Curtin at the district-wide spelling bee scheduled for Saturday, May 14 for grades 3-5 and Saturday, May 21 for grades 6-8.

Forward Testing
Wisconsin Foward is our statewide assessment that measures students progress toward grade-level expectations. Our scheduled dates of testing are as follows:
- Tuesday, March 22
- Wednesday, March 23
- Wednesday, April 6
- Tuesday, April 12
- Wednesday, April 13
Make-up testing will take place upon a student's return from an absence. We would like to remind our families the importance of being on time and present for out testing sessions.

April 23, 2022 is declared an Earth Day of service! Please join with family and friends to participate in this Saturday event at the following parks. It’s free and a wonderful way to support our community and celebrate Earth Day.

SUMMER ACADEMY 2022
•High School- June 9–June 29 (No student attendance June 20) and July 6 - July 27 (No student attendance July 4)

This summer students will have the opportunity to take college coursework through the M3 Dual Enrollment Program. Attached is a listing of coursework students can take. 2021-2022 Coaching Opportunities—COACHES NEEDED!
Curtin needs your help with finding coaches in order to offer sports opportunities for our students. Thank you in advance for considering coaching a team in the Spring.
Spring Sport
- 1st to 3rd grade Tee Ball
- 4th & 5th grade Softball
Middle School Soccer
For all Sports:
Practice two nights a week minimum (1.5-2 hrs long) starting after school day ends
Practices will begin 1-2 weeks before start of season based on availability

STUDENT ABSENCES
Parent(s)/guardian(s) are expected to notify the school by phone/letter of a student’s absence. Personal illness is a legally excused absence. The building principal may request a medical statement from a physician or other health care provider when student(s) have a history of excessive absences. If your child(ren) is going to be absent, please be sure to call 902-7700. We have a 24 hour automated service.
Please be aware that vacations, going out of town, etc. are only excused if it is in a written notification prior to the absences.

Parent Portal is a system used by MPS to give parents and guardians access to student information such as busing, immunization records, grades, etc. This system is also used for early admission for high school!

PTO & School Engagement Council
Parent involvement is important in the success of students. Our amazing PTO is in need of increased parent involvement.
We will meet on Wednesdays from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
