The 7 Sacraments are Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders, Reconciliation, Anointing of the sick and Communion.
Baptism
Baptism is a sacrament of Church initiation in which the minister pours water over the candidates head with the words of prayer proclaimed: "I baptise you, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. " Going into the water is a symbol of dying to the ways of the world and being born into the way of the Gospel. The symbol of baptism is a white garment, water, oils and candles.
Confirmation
Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments through which Catholics pass in the process of their religious upbringing. According to Catholic doctrine, in this sacrament they are sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and are strengthened in their Christian life. The symbols of Confirmation are the cross, water, light, word of God and chrism which is a holy oil.
Communion
Christian rite involving the eating of bread and drinking of wine, reenacting the Last Supper.
First Communion is an important ceremony in the Catholic Church. Generally, children between 7-8 years old will celebrate their first Holy Communion, which is the first time they will participate in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, or the sharing of the bread and wine.
Anointing of the sick
During the process of anointing the sick, the family friends and the priest gather with the sick person and a short prayer is said, beginning with repentance.
Holy orders
Holy orders is where a priest or any other religious role gets ordained and married to the church. Once ordained you will always be ordained and have to wear a special ring to show that they are married to the church.
Reconciliation
Reconciliation is a special sacrament of penance for the pardon of sins committed after baptism. You can make Reconciliation more than once. You confess your sins and then forgiven by God.
Christians consider marriage as a gift from God and it is the right environment to engage in relations and to establish a family life. During the ceremony, the couple make their promises in front of God to love, honour comfort and protect their partner as long as they both shall live. The priest also proclaims the couple as husband and wife and they sign the legal register.
