News from Principal Lamothe

Hello PRS Wizards!
As we entered into the new year, I have heard the buzz around attendance letters being sent home. These are in no way punitive but a reminder to families of how many school days your child/ren have missed so far this year that are unexcused. Unexcused days are days that are vacations or days that the office has not been alert of your child's absence. I have also received and listened to some constructive feedback from those that have received a letter so far.
Since the four elementary school all use the same letter, I have reached out to them so we can collaborate and rewrite the letter so it is more used as an informative tool and not seen so much as something that is punitive. There is/was no intent for it to ever feel punitive. In the district we are asked to send out letters to families who have more than five unexcused absences and then each month as we run the attendance report if more unexcused absences occur we send out another letter.
Please check your child(ren)'s Schoolcafe.com account to add to or pay off the balance.
Food Services will be phasing out the sale of single use water bottles. Once the current inventory is gone we will no longer sell 8oz waters. There is a filtered water hydration station available right in the cafeteria for any student that would need water.
HPS Integrated Preschool program is looking for children who will work, play, and learn alongside children with special needs in our integrated preschool settings.
