Peace, Passion, Purpose
“ So there are two plans: one is to disseminate knowledge, to follow a syllabus. The other is to look to the life of man and serve it, and in serving it, help humanity. ”-Dr. Maria Montessori
Notes from Michelle
We want to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as we work our way through all of the covid protocols. As you may know, often counties have differences in their specific definitions. I wanted to apologize for confusion between terms “fully vaccinated” and “up to date vaccinated”. In a previous Friday Folder I stated that in order to be “fully vaccinated” you would need to include the booster when eligible. However, that information was incorrect. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as having either both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one of the J & J. “Up to date vaccinated” is defined as being boosted according to the time frame where you are eligible for the booster. Again, thank you for your patience.
Children are so amazing with what they can step up to taking on in times of adversity. Watching how happy and “normal” they are on campus makes everything we are all doing in order to ensure they can be here worth every meeting and update. The smiles and laughter were sorely missed last year. These children have adapted so well to masks, and new protocols in the classroom, quite often better than we adults. Even the briefest interaction or observation with the students can brighten our days.
We hope that you all enjoy your weekend and stay well.

Hello from CFEP!
See's Valentine Candy Fundraiser
Thank you for your support over the holiday with our See's Candy Fundraiser! Because of our amazingly "sweet" families, we raised just over $1,100 for our school! It was so successful, we wanted to do it again for Valentine's Day. You could even buy some sweet treats for our amazing teachers!
Our current fundraiser (linked below) goes from now until January 28th, so make sure you order in time for the holiday! Every purchase sends 50% back to the school, and See's is a locally run business. If you share the link below to your friends and family, they can order and it will benefit the school too. This is an AMAZING opportunity to support Eagle Peak!!

Jaxon Season – “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to ustter words, but to live by them.” – John F Kennedy

Counselor’s Corner
Hello Eagle Peak Families,
It has been a while since I had a chance to say hello and provide helpful resources. My goal is to do this at least once a month. Our school counseling program is off and running! I am really enjoying working with students and seeing their growth. With all of the changes and uncertainty happening right now I know so many children and families are in need of support. One resource I have found very helpful is called the Big Life Journal. They provide free printable worksheets each week via email on various social/emotional topics. I have been very impressed with the research based and simple to understand content they provide. You can find them online at: www.biglifejournal.com as well as on Instagram. Here are
7 Habits of A Positive Parent recently shared by the Big Life Journal:
1. Connect before your Correct
When we connect, children move from a defensive/reactive mode of communication to a receptive one
Example: “You seem very angry about this, tell me more”
2. Ask for Help When You Need It
You will get the support you need and model the importance of asking for help
3. Make Time for Yourself
We need to make sure our needs are met. Say to your child, “I need time to relax for 10 minutes, I will be available later”
4. Set Firm Boundaries
Clear Boundaries help children thrive and make parenting easier
“My answer is no. You’re free to disagree”
5. Stay Flexible
Be open to change your mind. Try new approaches, do what works for your family
“I would like to try something different before we read a book. Let’s talk about our day.”
6. Lead with Love
Let your child know that your love never waivers. Even when things get tough.
“There’s nothing you can do for me to love you more or less.”
7. Be an Active Listener
Connect and ask questions instead of making assumptions.
“Thank you for sharing that with me. I want to talk more about this and understand your perspective.”News from Art

Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your e-receipts and earn Box Tops. Your earnings may seem small, but they really do add up. The more people that participate, the bigger the impact we can make. Learn more about how Box Tops works at BTFE.com.
