Quick Options for Fast Finishers
One of the challenges our gifted and advanced learners face is the need to engage in something new beyond the regular completed assignment. This newsletter has activity ideas that range from short to long term.
Coding
With lessons for elementary, secondary and beyond, there's truly something for every level of learner in your room. These activities can be accessed in brief moments of time and span as little or as long as student is interested.
Webquests
Looking for real world math extensions? Learning about percents? Students can research the different sales tax rates and determine the different amounts people pay across the country based on a few specific purchases. Learning about geometry? Students can use this floor plan tool to create a space that meets a specific criteria. Looking for something else? These webquests span several different grade levels and subject areas.
Graphic Novels
Explaining a learned concept in a creative way is not only a great means to evaluate understanding, but extend learning beyond a standard assignment. StoryBoardThat is an easy to use platform, where students can create their own graphic novel discussing topics in any subject.
